Orderliness - Unlock The Secrets Now!
While orderliness might be considered a personality trait, it is also a lifelong skill anyone can embrace.
Most parents want their children to do well at school by focusing their attention on their studies and developing good study habits.
We also like to encourage their creativity and for them to be imaginative in their thinking.
Environment
While some people believe that creativity thrives in chaos, some studies have shown that creativity is enhanced when an environment has fewer distractions and a sense of order and harmony due to a structured environment.
Many of us know people, such as colleagues, who have paperwork covering their whole desk, and nobody else can find the documents they need in their absence.
They don't want anyone else touching their stuff; if it's not where they left it, they can't find it either.
Then, we have policies and procedure manuals that are often easily accessible and easy to locate.
Then, find the section you require and follow the instructions because of orderliness.
Some people are very lax, and others are fanatical about things being in place.
All these adults were once children who watched what their role models did and followed their examples or chose to do things differently.
We all need to find what we are comfortable with, beginning with the knowledge of possibilities. You don't know what you don't know.
Some people enjoy keeping things organised, and I admit I'm one of them. I wasn't always as organised, but I always liked things to be clean and tidy.
I remember one friend once telling me my disorganisation was her organisation. She was being kind and hadn't seen certain areas of my life!
Self-Care
Children can throw a spanner in the works - to a degree.
However, they can also inspire you to get more organised.
A whole new person has entered the house.
You are responsible for them until you have taught them to be independent and accountable for themselves.
So, orderliness has become a form of self-care. Maintaining an orderly space and routine is an act of self-care because it supports you and your child in every way.
As a parent, it's essential to schedule time-out for yourself in your calendar because when you feel good, your child knows it.
For your benefit, teach your kids about orderliness from the start. While you are doing things, you can talk to them and let them know what you are doing.
Here are five reasons parenting is easier when you role model orderliness:
Listening
Children learn by listening, watching, and discovering whose words and actions align. As they grow older, you share more information.
While carrying your child in the baby sling or your arms, you can talk aloud about taking your shoes off at the front door and your reasons for doing so.
When you leave home, rather than thinking about what you have in the baby bag, verbally share what's running through your head—hopefully, your partner is listening, too!
Create a song about their bath time routine or for picking up toys. This way, you are also teaching about routines.
What area of your life do you want to be more organised in? Is there a habit you would like your child to develop so they have more orderliness in their environment? What do you need to help them?
